Back of the bench carved with one blind arch on either side of a medallion enclosing a pierced trefoil.
Object Condition
Missing: right hand of the Virgin; bird in Christ's right hand (remains of its tail on the Virgin's right arm); right hand of Christ.
Crown and edges of theVirgin's cloak chipped. Vertical cracks.
Provenance
Acquired in 1886 in Vienna by the Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts; transferred to the Hermitage in 1926.
