Comments
This piece was originally one of the end panels of a casket of which two other panels have survived, also in the Angers collection (see related objects). Godard-Faultrier mentions four pieces in 1884, but only three are located today.

Provenance
Found at Ingrandes. Acquired by the Museum in February 1863.
