Comments
This piece forms a pair with a statuette of saint Louis, also in Providence (13.149A). The two statuettes are contained in a box with a coat of arms (a bend, with two fleur-de-lis), which seems inspired by the arms of the dukes of Bourbon.

Provenance
Gift of Mrs Jesse H. Metcalf to the Museum in 1913.
