Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Object Condition
Very damaged.
Missing: right forearm of the Virgin and head of Christ. The Virgin's head has been defaced and recarved at a later date so that her head looks more like that of a skeleton, and is reminiscent of the skulls on Memento mori rosary beads.
Provenance
Bequest of Alice Baird, Geneva, 1926 (via Mr Baird and Mrs van Muyden-Baird, her heirs).
