Adoration of the Magi with seated Virgin and Child; servant holding a crown; Virgin holding Christ's hand; Virgin trampling a winged dragon (basilisk); crown.

Museum's opinion 2013: 19th century (before 1887), in a 12th-century German style.

Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Hole at the back of the neck of the king standing in the middle. Deep vertical cracks.

Provenance
Collection of Louis Fould (b. 1794, d. 1858), Paris: his sale, Paris, 4 June 1860 and following days, lot 1695. Collection of Friedrich Georg Hermann Culemann (b. 1811, d. 1886), Hannover; acquired by the city of Hannover in 1887.
