Centre of the back turned with a hollow for the missing mirror, surface of the framework has in places peeled off, leaving only traces of the flanged groove and the entry-slot for the projection on the cover.
Object Condition
Missing: two crouching monsters.
Damaged as a result of having been buried.
Hole (modern) at the top.
Provenance
Said to have been disinterred by the explosion of a German shell in Northern France during the war of 1914-1918. Bought by Henry Walters from Henry Daguerre in Paris in 1924; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
