Crucifixion swooning Virgin supported by saint John the Evangelist and one of the Holy Women; sword piercing the Virgin's chest; three onlookers; sun and moon; clouds.
Medallions containing quatretrefoils enclosing protruding cones in the spandrels.

Hinges
Traces of several missing hinges on left side (these traces probably mix original and later hinges).

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: black (pupils), red (lips, hair, architectural details).

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Longer edges slightly chamfered. Label with inscriptions: '1001', '418', '11'.

Object Condition
Numerous holes (plugged with ivory?). Left edge indented in numerous places, seemingly for successive hinges.

Provenance
Collection of Léon Bonnat (b. 1833, d. 1922): his bequest in 1922.
