Hidden by the wooden frame. Blue and white label with inscription: 'AS. 920' (probably for 'Alexander Schnütgen').
Object Condition
Central hole in the upper part. Vertical crack down the right side and lower left corner damaged and repaired with later ivory replacements: the panel has broken into several pieces which are being held together by the frame.
Very worn.
Comments
The total measurements including the frame are 95 x 75 x 15 mm.
Provenance
Collection of Alexander Schnütgen (b. 1843, d. 1918), who had bought it from an art dealer in Naples (Schnütgen donated his collection to the city of Cologne in 1906 and the first Schnütgen Museum opened in 1910).
