Register 1: Coronation of the Virgin; angel crowning the Virgin; Christ making a blessing gesture.
Register 2: standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); Virgin holding a flower in her right hand; two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Medallions containing trefoils in the spandrels.


Koechlin Number: 0189

Koechlin 1924: France, 2nd third of the 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on either side of the panel.

Reverse
Inscriptions: 'Sch Nr. 30 Seite 327', 'G-N-M', 'Sch II p. 327 Nr. 30' (corresponds to the entry in an old inventory by Schuchardt).

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of the gable; left hand of the angel, crown and both hands of the Virgin in the Coronation scene; left hand of Christ and candles in the lower register scene.
Worn.

Comments
This panel certainly formed the centre of a triptych.
