Depth: 4 mm

Courting couple (meeting of lovers); seated couple; youth chucking his lover under the chin; youth with a hawk on his wrist; lady crowning her lover with a chaplet; lady holding a dog; trees.

Darcel and Basilewski 1874: France, 14th century.
Kryzhanovskaya 2014: Germany, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Traces of polychromy.

Reverse
Back turned with a depression for (missing) mirror. Edges on the back have been filed or thinned.

Object Condition
Missing: corner terminals.
Back levelled. Small cracks.

Comments
This piece is carved in low relief.

Provenance
Collection of Alexander Petrovich Basilewski (b. 1829, d. 1899), Paris, since 1874; acquired by the Hermitage in 1885.
