Kneeling angel holding a scroll; archangel Gabriel (part of an Annunciation scene).

Kryzhanovskaya 2014: Flemish, 2nd half of the 15th century.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy: red, green, gold (hair).

Reverse
Smooth, slightly rounded, with scoring.

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of the scroll and of the angel's left wing.
Vertical crack down the angel's body; several minor cracks at the bottom.

Provenance
Acquired in Vienna in 1886 for the collection of the Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts, Saint Petersburg; transferred to the Hermitage in 1926.
