Standing Virgin and Child; Christ seated on left arm; Christ in long robe; Virgin holding a flower in her right hand; Christ playing with veil of his mother.
Base: scenes from the life of the Virgin under six cusped arches, including Adoration of the Magi and Presentation in the Temple.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy on the Virgin's cloak.

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Missing: head of the Virgin, section from one of the trefoil arches.
Chip to the drapery. Two holes on the left side for the attachment of a chain.

Comments
Apparently carved from a late-12th-century oliphant.
