Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls; angels holding the sun and the moon; rugged cross; cruciform halo.
Pinnacles. Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Cancelled red ink inscription: 501.

Object Condition
Two central holes in the upper part of the panel.
Lower left corner broken and repaired (more visible from the back).

Comments
In 1876, this panel was forming a triptych with, on either side, a modern wing featuring an angel holding a candlestick (Westwood).
