Wing, left
Nativity and Annunciation to the Shepherds; musician shepherd playing the bagpipes; ram; dog.
Wing, right
Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls. 
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Kryzhanovskaya 2014: France, 2nd third of the 14th century.


Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Vertical crack down the middle of the right wing.
Central holes in the upper part of each panel (under the central arch) filled with a white substance. Edges on the reverse cut to accommodate the later frame.

Provenance
Acquired in Aachen by the Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts in 1880; transferred to the Hermitage in 1926.
