Standing Virgin and Child; Christ in long robe; Christ seated on left arm; Christ holding a fruit in his left hand; blessing gesture.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy: gold (pattern along the hems; Virgin's hair), blue and red.

Reverse
Carved in the round, but lower relief on the back.

Object Condition
Missing: right hand of the Virgin (replaced); head and both arms of Christ; flower (later).
Bottom part of the cloak broken at the front.
Deep vertical cracks. Two round pins on the right forearm to secure the additional piece of ivory. Edge of the foot broken.
Two holes on the underside to secure the statuette onto a base.
Modern crown.

Provenance
Collection of Alexander Petrovich Basilewski (b. 1829, d. 1899), Paris, from 1865; acquired by the Museum in 1885.
