Seated Virgin and Child; Christ Child seated on the Virgin's left knee; Christ in long robe; bench.

Randall 1985 and Museum's opinion 2010: Spain, 2nd half of the 13th century.

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of the head of the Virgin and right arm of the Virgin; head, right and left forearms of Christ Child; crown.
Large chip below the left foot of the Virgin.

Comments
Style close to the Virgin and Child of the Treasury of San Marcos (Koechlin 661) and the Cathedral Treasury at Seville (Randall 1985).

Bought from Léon Gruel in Paris in 1914 by Henry Walters; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
