Wing, left
Register 1: saint Andrew with a saltire cross. Saint John the Baptist holding a cross; camel hide.
Register 2: saint Simon with a saw. Saint George in armour with spear, shield and dragon.
Centre panel
Two standing angels holding a jewelled cross; putto holding a panel with incised inscription 'Abbaye de Fécamp'.
Wing, right
Register 1: saint Peter holding a key; saint Paul holding a sword.
Register 2: saint Louis holding a sceptre with fleur-de-lys; saint Thomas with a square and a stem of flowers.Angels holding scrolls in the gables.
Jewelled borders; diapered background; architectural framework.

Museum's opinion 2013: French (?), 19th century.

Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Two hinges on either side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Blue and white label with the inscription: 'V 339'.

Object Condition
Vertical crack in the lower part of the right wing.

Comments
This piece was inspired by the metalwork Reliquary of the Holy Cross of Floreffe, executed after 1254 for the Abbey of Floreffe in the Diocese of Liège (Paris, Musée du Louvre, OA 5552).

Provenance
In the collection assembled by Alexandre Le Grand for the museum before 1888. Described in a pre-1888 handwritten inventory kept at the museum as: 'Triptyque ivoire gothique: 2 anges portant une croix formant reliquaire.' (p. 6).
