Traces of gilding.

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
The left side of the Virgin's figure and her right hand broke off and were glued back into place. Several vertical cracks. Minor damages on the reverse.

Provenance
Acquired in 1877 from Baissel in Aachen, for the Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts, Saint Petersburg; transferred to the Hermitage in 1926.
