Wing, left
Saint Augustine of Hippo with a bishop's mitre and crozier; child holding a spoon, alluding to the vision of saint Augustine by the seashore.
Centre panel
Agony in the Garden (Christ at Gethsemane); apostles asleep; angel holding a chalice; soldiers coming to arrest Christ (Arrest of Christ); Judas holding a purse; soldier holding a torch; soldiers in armour.
Wing, right
Saint Mary Magdalene (?) with ointment pot.
Row of blind arches; tracery.

Museum's opinion 2013: 19th century, in a 16th-century German style.
Williamson and Davies 2014: Germany (Nuremberg?) or French (Paris?), probably c. 1840-50.

Two sets of two later hinges

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Blue and white label on the back of the right wing with the inscription: 'N. 484'. White label on the back of the left wing with the inscription: '422'.

Collection of Friedrich Georg Hermann Culemann (b. 1811, d. 1886), Hannover; acquired by the city of Hannover in 1887.
