Side 1: seated Virgin and Child; Christ seated on the Virgin's right knee; throne with foliated decoration.
Side 2: Crucifixion with thieves.

Kryzhanovskaya 2014: English (?), 13th-14th century (?).

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of white priming. Traces of polychromy (red and green).

Reverse
Carved on both sides.

Object Condition
Missing: Christ's left hand. Crown damaged. Discolouration.
Missing: thieves in the Crucifixion scene (only the lower part of their legs is visible). Figure of Christ very damaged on side 2.
Hole in the underside.

Provenance
Acquired in 1947 through the Purchasing Commission of the Experts of the State Hermitage Museum.
