Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy and gilding: gold (hair; beard; decoration along the hems), green (lining of the cloak), red (lining of the cloak).

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Traces of glue. Incised circles made with a compass.

Object Condition
Pierced by a hole in each corner for attachment of lost fittings. Damaged in upper right corner.

This piece is part of an ensemble of 7 panels, probably fragments of a casket. See related objects.

Provenance
On permanent loan from a private collection since 1938.
