Register 1: Annunciation; dove of the Holy Spirit. Adoration of Christ Child (Nativity); angels holding scrolls.
Register 2: Carrying of the Cross with the Virgin helping Christ. Resurrection; two soldiers asleep; sword; halberd; shields; angels.
In the centre: standing God the Father; orb; blessing gesture. Crucifixion.
Foliated decoration.

Museum's opinion 2014: Iceland, 15th century.

Object Condition
A piece seems to be missing at the foot of the crucified Christ, and to have been replaced with a different material.

This panel is made of different pieces of ivory.

Provenance
From the church of Breiðabólsstaður in Fljótshlíð (Southern Iceland). Acquired by the museum in 1883.
