Death of the Virgin (Dormition); Christ holding the soul of the Virgin; cruciform halo; apostles; martyr's palm; blessing gesture.
Pointed trefoils. Row of rounded pierced trefoils.

Randall 1993: German, last quarter of the 14th century.


Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Reverse
Flat, with some vertical scoring. Inscribed with three later compass doodles with stars.
Label with handwritten inscriptions: '...que XIV', 'MEC 671' or 'NEC 671'.

Object Condition
Pierced with later holes, some of which have been filled with wax.

Provenance
Bought from A. Semail-Parer, Paris, in June 1926.
