Traces of gilding and polychromy: gold ((patterned background; rosettes), red (architectural details; book).
Reverse
Flat and smooth. Remains of glued red fibre.
Object Condition
Missing: edges of the gable; lower part of this panel (one or two registers).
Comments
Other fragments have survived: another one in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (64.27.20), one in the Musée Bernard d'Agesci in Niort (Inv. 914.1.137), three in the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento (1960.3.54, 78 and 79) and one in Washington.
