This piece would originally have been one the side panels of a casket.
Provenance
Collection of Baron von Hüpsch (b. 1730, d. 1805), Cologne; acquired in 1805 by the Museum; stolen in 1945 from the castle of Rauhenzell im Allgäu where the collections of the museum had been deposited.
