Centre panel
Register 1: Crucifixion; Longinus piercing Christ's side; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar; Sun and Moon.
Register 2: Adoration of the Magi; angel crowning the Virgin.
Wing, right
Register 1: Saint John the Evangelist (part of the Crucifixion).
Register 2: Presentation; Christ standing on the altar between the Virgin and Simeon.
Medallion containing a quatrefoil enclosing a protruding cone in the centre gable; medallions containing a quatrefoil enclosing a protruding cone in the spandrels.

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive traces of gilding and polychromy. gold (hair, background pattern, sun and moon, clothing borders, architecture); blue (clothing lining, spandrels); green (spear, halos, gifts), red (blood, arches, book, leggings, gits); brown (cross).

Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Labels OH EB8 (for Oscar Hainauer); inscriptions in ink: no. 6 et 363.

Comments
Unusually, the wings are each made of two pieces of ivory which can close separately over the upper or lower part of the centre panel.
