Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by Holy Women; saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls. 
Pinnacles.

Kryzhanovskaya 2014: France, 1st half of the 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of three hinges (?).

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: black.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Edges on the reverse cut to accommodate the later frame.
The right wing has a deep vertical crack running along the right of Christ, which has been filled with a white substance.
Repairs to the right and left borders of the left wing.
Vertical stain down the body of Christ.

Provenance
Goldschmidt collection, Frankfurt; acquired by the Stieglitz Museum of Applied Arts in 1879; tranferred to the Hermitage in 1926.
