Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two angels holding navettes and candlesticks; two angels swinging censers.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels. Border of dentils.

Museum's opinion 2011: French, 2nd quarter of the 14th century.

Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Polychromy - Gilding
Possibly stained red (?).

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Label recording the provenance.

Object Condition
Drilled hole at the apex of the arch.
Missing: part of the candles held by the angels.

Provenance
Collection of Charles Fairfax-Murray (b. 1849, d. 1919): his bequest to the Museum in 1917.
