Register 1: Entombment (Anointing of Christ's body); tomb decorated with pierced trefoils.
Register 2: Annunciation; vase of lilies; dove of the Holy Spirit. Visitation.
Incised trefoils.

Koechlin 1924: France, 3rd quarter of the 14th century.
Museum's opinion 2012: Upper Rhenish with French influence, 1st half of the 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.Channel running along all edges.

Object Condition
Holes at the top right and left corners; vertical crack to the left of the centre; broken around the lower hinge.

Provenance
Stuttgart, Sammlung Vaterländischer Altertümer (no. 8596), later one of the founding collections of the Landesmuseum Württemberg.
