Wing, left
Register 1: Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two angels holding candlesticks; angel crowning the Virgin.
Wing, right
Register 1: Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; sun and moon; cruciform halo.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels. Pinnacles.

Chiesi 2011: France, c. 1350.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: yellow (architecture).

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Vertical cracks. Ink inscription on the back of the right wing: 'Com[...] du XV'(?).

Object Condition
Missing: flower held by the Virgin (left wing) and some fingers of her right hand (right wing); candles (replaced).
Vertical break across saint John the Evangelist's arm (right wing).
Central hole in the upper part of each wing.

Provenance
E. Vaïsse Collection (1885, no. 8). Carrand collection: bequeathed by Louis Carrand (d. 1888) to the Museo del Bargello in 1888.
