Register 1: Entombment (Anointing of Christ's body); Virgin and apostles.
Register 2: Flagellation; winged hat; whips.
Incised trefoils in the spandrels.

Glasgow Museums' opinion 2013: French, c. 1340.


Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Traces of glue. Traces of a later replacement on the upper part of the panel.

Object Condition
Missing: upper right part of the panel (repaired with a piece of ivory). This is more visible from the reverse.

Provenance
Unknown provenance and date of acquisition (probably pre-1911); given to the City of Glasgow by Sir William and Constance, Lady Burrell, in 1944.
