Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; sun and moon.

Piano 2007: Paris, c. 1350-1375; identifies it as a pax.

Object Condition
Hole in each spandrel and to the left of Christ's feet. Vertical crack.

Comments
The pax is concave when viewed from the front, so that the inside is the sculpted side, which is very unusual.

Provenance
Bequest of Alice Baird, Geneva, 1926 (via Mr Baird and Mrs van Muyden-Baird, her heirs).
