Register 1: Entombment (Anointing of Christ's body), with Holy Women.
Register 2: Adoration of the Magi; attendant with horses.
Incised trefoils.

Randall 1985 and Museum's opinion 2010: German (Westphalia?), 1400-1420.

Traces of having had a metal frame.
Broken at the upper left corner (repaired).

Comments
According to Randall (1985), possibly half of a diptych which was mounted in silver, or was used as a pax.

Provenance
Edouard Aynard collection, Lyon: sold, Paris, 1 December 1913, lot 179. Bought by Henry Walters from Léon Gruel in Paris in 1914; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
