Height: 60mm (diameter of each)

Medallion 1
Crucifixion with thieves; swooning Virgin supported by one of the Holy Women; saint Mary Magdalene crying at the foot of the cross; saint John the Evangelist; Longinus with spear; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar; trees; rugged cross.
Medallion 2
Register 1: Coronation of the Virgin; angel crowning the Virgin; angel swinging a censer; God the Father holding the orb and cross; blessing gesture.
Register 2: saint Catherine of Alexandria holding a martyr's palm and a sword; standing Virgin and Child; saint Barbara with tower and martyr's palm; hanging curtain.
Foliated background.

Extensive gilding and polychromy: gold (hair, cross, beards, spears, throne, crowns, censers, etc.), green (foliage, trees, wings, ground...), red (curtain, flowers, clothes), blue (curtains, clothes), purple, pink (clothes, flowers), black (eyes).

Object Condition
Missing: part of the openwork.

Comments
Originally framed with a copper frame and covered with crystal.

Provenance
Carrand collection: bequeathed by Louis Carrand (d. 1888) to the Museo del Bargello in 1888.
