Castle of LoveOn the battlements: youth kneeling before the crowned Frau Minne (Lady Love; Venus); youths with hands in prayer. Three maidens leading three knights in armour into the castle; courting couples (meeting of lovers); lady holding a key; lady holding a stem of flowers; staircase; rose bushes.
Roped border; masks in the spandrels; foliated decoration in the corners; flowers.

Museum's opinion 2012: 19th century.

Flat, with residues of a white substance.

Corners chipped.

Comments
This piece is a copy of a mirror case now in Darmstadt (Inv. Pl 36:92).

Provenance
Deusy collection; bought by the museum in 1897.
