Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax, with a raised border. Some scratches. White round label with the printed inscription 'Collection Émile Baboin' and the ink inscription '4'.
Object Condition
The raised borders on the reverse seem to have been intentionally levelled (?).
Comments
This panel and Inv. 952.52.2, also in the Royal Ontario Museum, formed the covers of a set of writing tablets (see low relief and reverse originally recessed for wax).
Provenance
Emile Baboin collection, Lyon (at least until 1912). Bought from Raphael Stora, New York, in 1952.
