Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: red? (belt).

Reverse
Carved in the round, lower relief at the back. Back of the bench flat.

Object Condition
Missing: right hand of the Virgin (replaced), right hand of Christ partly broken and repaired.

Comments
Labels on the back and under the statuette with inscription 'no. 9', no. 364 and traces of another 'OH Eb.11' (Hainauer collection).

Collection of Frédéric Spitzer collection, Paris: his sale, 17 April 1893, lot 117. Collection of Oscar Hainauer (b. 1840s?, d. 1894), Berlin (Inv. Eb. 11).
