Crucifixion; swooning Virgin supported by the Holy Women; Saint John the Evangelist; onlookers; Longinus with spear kneeling in prayer; Stephaton giving Christ vinegar.
Pointed trefoils; pinnacles.

Museum's opinion 2012: France, 2nd half of the 14th century.

Extensive gilding on the architecture and background.

Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax, with a raised border.

Provenance
Collection Edwin Oppler, Hannover: his sale, Berlin, Rudolph Lepke's Kunst-Auctions-Haus, 25 February 1913, lot 140; purchased in 1913 by the Landesgewerbemuseum at the Oppler sale; transferred to the Württembergische Landesmuseum Stuttgart in 1968.
