Hinges
Traces of two hinges on the right side.

Object Condition
Chip in the right corner of the gable. Broken in the lower left corner. Candle burn on the arm and face of the angel on the right. Seven holes in the borders suggesting subsequent use as decoration for a book cover.

Provenance
Collection of Octave Homberg (b. 1876, d. 1941), Paris: his sale, Paris, 16 May 1908, lot 472. Bought by Jacques Seligmann in same sale, Paris in 1908. Bought by Henry Walters in Paris in 1912; Walters Art Museum, 1931, by bequest.
