Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; sun and moon.
Pointed trefoils.

Randall 1993: English, 1345-1365.
Museum's opinion 2010: France (?) or possibly England, c. 1345-1365.

Hinges
Two missing hinges on left side.

Object Condition
Vertical cracks present on the reverse with some fill material; slightly altered during its history by carving an arc into the sides, perhaps to force it into a frame.

Comments
The silver base, added after 1919, is signed: 'M. Bucellati, Milano, Roma, Firenze.'

Provenance
Bought thanks to the J. H. Wade Fund from Adolph Loewi, Los Angeles, in 1947.
