Reverse
The reverse seems to have originally been recessed to receive wax, with a raised border, which was later intentionally levelled (?).
Extensive traces of glue.

Comments
This panel and Inv. 952.52.1, also in the Royal Ontario Museum, formed the covers of a set of writing tablets (see low relief and reverse originally recessed for wax).
Provenance
Emile Baboin collection, Lyon (at least until 1912). Bought from Raphael Stora, New York, in 1952.
