Swooning Virgin supported by two Holy Women (probably part of a Crucifixion scene).

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding: hair, eyebrows.

Reverse
Curved with some scoring. Ink inscription: 'b. 2'. Blue and white label with inscription '761'.

Object Condition
Chests have been reworked.

Comments
Traces of the original attachment (drill holes for cranks on the lateral edges). Koechlin argues this piece, together with Inv. Pl 36:86, also in Darmstadt and ML 131 and ML 132 in the Louvre, belonged to the same ensemble or came from the same workshop (Koechlin 1924).

Provenance
Probably from the collection of Baron von Hüpsch (b. 1730, d. 1805), Cologne; acquired in 1805 by the Museum.
