Register 2: Visitation. Annunciation; vase of lilies. Annunciation to the Shepherds; sheep. Nativity; midwife holding Christ. Presentation in the Temple; Virgin holding Christ; Simeon with hands in prayer. Adoration of the Magi. Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist. Deposition with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; Joseph of Arimathea holding Christ's body; man with pincers removing the nail from Christ's feet.
Pointed trefoils in the spandrels. Foliated border; foliated scrolls.

The upper foliated rim of the pyxis is made of a different piece of ivory. Holes for missing fittings.
Missing: part of the right foreleg of three horses; right hand of the angel in the Annunciation scene; part of the pincers in the Deposition scene.
Provenance
Collection of Ante Topić Mimara (b. 1898, d. 1987): donated to the Croatian people in 1973; foundation of the museum in 1980 and opening to the public in 1987.
