Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.
Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive gilding and polychromy: trace of medallions in the spandrels; red (architectural details, inside the Virgin's veil); gold (crown; hair; wings); yellow or gold (inside the Virgin's cloak); green (candles); painted halo.
Reverse
Flat and smooth.
Object Condition
Chipped around the upper hinge.
Nail in the upper border.
Comments
Label with inscription '21' on the lower border.
Provenance
Collection Albert Maignan (b. 1845, d. 1908); bequeathed by Maignan to the museum in 1908, but entered the collections in 1927.
