Register 1: Pilate washing his hands; Flagellation; whips.
Register 2: Judas receiving the reward; hanging purse. Betrayal (Taking of Christ; Kiss of Judas).
Wing, right
Register 1: Carrying of the Cross; Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist.
Register 2: Death of Judas (Judas hanging); Arrest of Christ; man holding a lantern.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Polychromy - Gilding
Extensive traces of polychromy and gilding: gold (hair and beards; along the hems; decorated background; buttons, etc.); green (tree), blue (lining of garments), red (shoes; blood; lips), red and green (haloes; striped garments); red, purple and black (shoes), brown (cross).

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
Lower border of the left wing chipped.
Holes in the underside to attach the diptych onto a base.

Provenance
Collection of Alexander Petrovich Basilewski (b. 1829, d. 1899), Paris, since 1865; acquired by the Museum in 1885.
