Wing, left
Register 1: Crucifixion; Virgin supported by the Holy Women; sun and moon; Saint John the Evangelist and onlookers holding scrolls; rugged cross.
Register 2: Last Supper with saint John the Evangelist leaning on Christ's breast; Christ feeding Judas across the table; Christ making a blessing gesture.
Wing, right
Register 1: Entombment with the Virgin.
Register 2: Betrayal (Taking of Christ; Kiss of Judas); Christ restores Malchus' ear, cut by saint Peter.
Border of dentils. Pointed trefoils in the spandrels.

Unknown

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Smooth and flat. Traces of glue.

Object Condition
Major vertical crack from top to bottom in the right wing. Two pins visible on either side of the crack.

Provenance
'it has been in this country in the possession of an old Irish family for generations' (in letter from the Acting Director, dated 5 November 1926 in the Museum Archives). Bought in November 1926 from Harris and Sinclair, 47 Nassau st., Dublin (£200).
