Reverse
Reverse of the Crucifixion scene divided into 5 compartments, the central one being circular. This may indicate that this panel originally was part of a set of writing tablets.
Three incisions in the thickness of the ivory, on the left side.
Label with inscription: 'P No. 9675'. Ink inscription: 'Els [?] Jacob Christen'.
Object Condition
Edge of the border of the circular recess at the back chipped. Chip to the left border also when viewed from the back.
Provenance
Collection of Jacob Christen (19th century; see inscription on the back). Acquired by the museum on 14 January 1893 from Speich, art dealer in Wetzikon, near Zürich.
